The Business Management Programme also known as the ESC Lille Grande Ecole Programme is the flagship programme of the School. It leads to a Master in Management (MiM, in French) or an International Master in Management (IMiM, in English). The structure and the content of the programme are going through a reform. The new design aims to meet the ever evolving and demanding needs of companies looking for graduates who are immediately operational and able to evolve in today’s challenging business world. The curriculum is based on large and solid academic knowledge and the development of personal competences
The Business Management Programme is a general, transversal, state-of-the-art, and multicultural Master that prepares students for general careers in Business and Management through 2 or 3 years of advanced management courses, internships, and co-op or study-abroad tracks. The school focuses on the business acumen, the managerial competences and the professional commitment of its students so that they are able to adapt to a constantly evolving world. Pedagogy is based on lectures, tutorials, business games, professional projects, internships, and the commitment of faculty members and professional lecturers in all the academic aspects.
Students first learn to master the fundamentals of management, the technical requirements also known as ‘hard skills’ (quantitative and qualitative analyses, finance, or marketing). Then, with time they learn how to use these tools in various contexts such as business games, simulations, or management seminars and then gain transversal competences.
At the same time, students are encouraged to develop ‘soft skills’ such as interpersonal skills and personal qualities (leadership, negotiation, responsibility, problem-solving, integrity, team spirit) because we believe that ‘Business is about People’, and soft skills are essential for the success of an organisation
The Business Management Programme complies with the Bologna agreement and its 3 grades (undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate). The curriculum is organised in semesters, and the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) is used. ECTS describes programmes by attaching credits to its components and makes study programmes easy to read and compare for both national and international students. ECTS facilitates mobility, academic recognition and cooperation with other European business education providers. The Master in Management and the International Master in Management have 180 credits (6 x 30).
The particularity of the Business Management Programme is that if offers 5 main tracks and a wide range of career choices.
After the initial selection procedure, students are assessed on a continuous basis throughout the programme. In addition to their regular academic performance, they are subjected to overall evaluations of their internships, their performance in various business simulations, and case studies. To succeed each year, students must obtain 60 credits. The ESC Lille Business Management programme leads to a Master in Management or an International Master in Management. The diploma has been recognized by the French Ministry of Education since the creation of the School in 1892.
The ESC Lille Group has been EQUIS accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD) since February 2006.
