Financial support for participants

During the courses, students can work in companies while undertaking their studies. ESC Lille validates these in-company placements and students are paid by the company.

International students do not receive any scholarships from ESC Lille. The best option is to apply for available scholarships in one’s home country before leaving for France. A list of grants and scholarships awarded by the French government can be found on the EGIDE website (http://www.egide.asso.fr/uk/guide/preparer/obtenir/).

In addition to an in-company placement or a short- or long-term contract with a company during the course, some students may seek some additional employment to make more money. However, they should bear in mind that employment is very strictly regulated in France. Foreign students wishing to work in France must be enrolled at an institution of higher education and be part of the students’ health standard insurance scheme.

Foreign students from European Economic Area countries may work without having to apply for special authorization. Students from non-European Economic Area countries must apply for a temporary work authorization, or APT (Autorisation Provisoire de Travail).

This document is issued by the Direction Départementale du Travail et de l'Emploi et de la Formation Professionnelle (DDTEFP) of the place of residence.
